Let’s talk about peace. Not the world’s kind of peace. Not the “I’ve got enough money in the bank and backup plans A through Z” kind of peace. I’m talking about the peace of God — the kind that guards your mind and brings wholeness when anxiety wants to tear you to pieces.

So many of us are living fractured, anxious lives. Not because we don’t love God, but because we haven’t fully surrendered our thoughts to Him. And trust me, I get it. I almost didn’t even record this episode because of the kind of day I was having. But I pushed through, dug into Scripture, and God showed me something that completely blessed me — and I know it will bless you too.

What Anxiety Really Means

In Philippians 4:6–7, Paul says, “Don’t be anxious about anything but make your requests known to God and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

That word anxious in the Greek paints a picture of being pulled apart, drawn in opposite directions, fractured. That hit me hard. Anxiety is more than feeling nervous — it’s your mind being tugged in a hundred directions. No wonder it feels like we’re falling apart.

The Opposite of Anxiety: Wholeness

Now here’s the beautiful part. The word peace in that same passage means to be set at one again — it literally means wholeness. So where anxiety pulls us to pieces, God’s peace pulls us back together.

Peace isn’t just calm. It’s unity of mind. It’s the healing of all the parts that have been broken by trauma, stress, fear, and flesh-driven thoughts.

Romans 8 talks about the mindset of the Spirit bringing life and peace, while the mindset of the flesh brings death. This is the core of the mindset shift: letting the Holy Spirit lead your thoughts instead of letting fear or control rule your mind.

Peace Is a Person

Peace isn’t found in circumstances. It’s not about the absence of chaos. It’s about the presence of Jesus.

I’ve been through some rough seasons—financial crises, marital betrayal, anxiety attacks. But the turning point wasn’t when my situation changed. It was when I surrendered.

And that’s the “S word” nobody wants to talk about, right? Surrender. But that’s how peace comes. Not through striving or formulas. Through letting go. Through deciding that you’re not going to keep checking your bank account to determine whether you get to feel peace today.

There’s Peace for You, Too

Friend, if your mind feels fractured—if anxiety has you constantly on edge—it may be time to stop striving and start surrendering. God’s peace isn’t a theory. It’s your inheritance as His child.

You don’t have to stay stuck in anxiety. You don’t have to live a life led by fear. You can choose a mindset shift today—from anxiety to peace, from being pulled apart to being made whole.
