God Wants to Tabernacle With You

He’s not just visiting. He’s dwelling.

The Lord has been speaking this word over me lately: tabernacle. I kept hearing it over and over. It’s not a word I typically use, but I felt so strongly that God wanted me to really sit with it.

So I did. And what He revealed was beautiful.

Tabernacle means to dwell with.
Not visit. Not pass by. Not check in.
But dwell. Abide. Stay.

That’s what God has always desired—to dwell with His people.

His Desire Hasn’t Changed

From the beginning, God created a place where He could be with us. Eden wasn’t just paradise—it was a place of presence. God walked with Adam and Eve there.

Even after sin entered the picture, He didn’t give up on dwelling with us.

In the wilderness, He gave instructions to build a tabernacle. Not because He needed a tent, but because He wanted a place to be near His people. That tent represented His presence—and it moved with them. He went where they went.

And now?

We are that dwelling place. We are the tabernacle.

The Difference Between Communication and Fellowship

This part hit me hard: Are we just communicating with God… or are we fellowshipping with Him?

Communication is good—prayer, worship, reading Scripture—those are beautiful rhythms. But fellowship is different.

Fellowship is closeness. Intimacy. Ongoing nearness.

It’s waking up and saying, “Good morning, Lord. I’m so glad You’re here.”

It’s being aware of Him in the kitchen, in the car, in the quiet. It’s letting His presence rest on you in the ordinary.

We’re not waiting for a “someday” encounter. He’s already in us—right now.

You Can Feel Him

I’ve had moments where the presence of God has been so strong, I could feel it moving through my body. And if you’ve ever experienced that, you know—it’s like Heaven touching Earth.

But even when you don’t feel it… He’s still there. Because He doesn’t come and go. He dwells.

You Don’t Have to Strive

We spend so much of our lives striving. Performing. Proving. Trying to earn something that’s already been freely given.

But God isn’t asking for any of that. He’s asking for our hearts.

He already chose you. He already made a way through Jesus. He already moved in.

Now He wants to fellowship with you—right where you are.

So Pause

Before you rush into your next thing…

Before you fill your day with noise…

Pause.

Acknowledge Him.
Sit with Him.
Let your spirit remember:

God wants to tabernacle with me.
He wants to be at home in me.
And I want to make space for Him to stay.
